The Green Chain – Fuck Yeah!

All I can say after finally seeing The Green Chain last night is ‘Fuck Yeah’! (Please note here Mark & Tony, if you’d prefer an ‘I love trees’, then get me a t-shirt)

Loved the film!  In a day and age where filmmakers have a tendency to dumb things down for their audience, assuming we have the attention spans of a gnat (probably shouldn’t say that as I don’t really know how long the gnat’s attention span is), I was pleasantly surprised to find myself pulled into a tale told by some eloquently portrayed characters that assumes that the audience is bright and sophisticated.

A truly beautiful tale of people & communities that you’ll love, even if you don’t love trees.

Don’t miss The Green Chain.  It plays at Fifth Avenue Cinemas from now until Thursday March 12th.  Today’s the last day to catch the post film Q+A with Director / Writer, Mark Leiren-Young and let me tell you, you don’t want to miss that sexy devil. Sexiness is certainly not limited to the actors in this film.

The Green Chain is playing daily at Fifth Avenue Cinema at 1:30, 4:45, 7:10 & 9:10 pm.

For the love of trees ……part 3

I was going to put up the clip of the ‘hot’ logger this morning, but after seeing The Green Chain last night, I thought this clip was more fitting, as it really sums up the ideas for me:

You don’t want to miss this film.  It’s so powerful and is an example of storytelling at it’s finest.  Fifth Avenue Cinema – last day for post film Q&A with writer / director Mark Leiren-Young – 1:30, 4:45, 7:10 & 9:10 pm.

For the love of trees …part 2

I know he says fire doesn’t sleep, but does he?  Or more aptly, will he with me?  Shall I ask him that, if I happen to run into him at tonight’s screening of The Green Chain at Fifth Avenue Theatre?

For the love of trees …

For the love of trees, go to The Green Chain at Fifth Avenue Theatre this weekend.

Your Plans for the Weekend

Seeing as I am now carrying some new found fame thanks to Gillian Shaw, I feel I now have the right (no, actually the duty) to tell you what your plans are for the weekend.  So here they are, if you are in Van City you are going to see The Green Chain at Fifth Avenue Cinema this weekend.  And no, theres no option here, you’re going.  The only people with excuses are those that are not in Van City (although I don’t think they should rule out the option of flying in for this). Everyone else is going.  You do want to be cool, don’t you?  And don’t worry you do have seven days (a whole week to choose from) – The Green Chain starts playing tonight (Friday March 6th) and continues until Thursday March 12th.

Besides which, just check out the man on the poster – need I say more:

The Green Chain by you.

Here’s one of the trailers:

Now, I know Mr. Firefighter says fire doesn’t sleep, but my question is does he sleep or at least will he sleep with me?

Okay now, I’ve gone from pushy diva to just plain crass, so thinking it’s time to sign off before I get any worse, if thats possible.

Kisses,

Emme  xoxo
