My Hero

She is the woman that made me strong enough to stand on my own two feet.

She is the woman that instilled the confidence in me to speak my mind.

She is the woman that gave me the courage to stand by my convictions.

She is the woman that taught me most of what I know.

She is the woman that instilled a sense of compassion within me.

She is the woman that challenged me to be my best.

She is the woman that empowered me to believe that I could do whatever I set my mind to.

She is the woman that showed me I am equal to all.

She is the woman that made me feel loved unconditionally.

She is my Mom.

Love you Mom!

Thanks Mom! I love you!

Tuning In

Whilst students return to school this fall, I too have been delving into the depths of higher learning, as I spend my evenings listening to the wise words of my old philosophy prof, Tele Vision.  It has certainly been a journey of self discovery.

This past week alone I have learnt:

  • From Matilda that ‘most people don’t know how to look after themselves until their early 30′s’. (34 is still your early 30′s right?  I’m not a late bloomer, am I?)

  • On Privileged, I learnt that ‘it’s just the appearance of sanity that’s important’.  Thank goodness for that!  Although I am not sure that I am succeeding any better in appearances than in reality.
  • 90210 taught me that ‘blogs are suppose to cause problems.  Ah – finally a lesson that I seem to be advanced at!

  • Most importantly, from Heroes, that the role I should be playing this fall and the girl I want to be is Maya.  Siresh has always been incredibly sexy in my mind, but with his new primal super powers, he’s frickin HOT!!!!!  And I am not one turned on by the typical Hollywood boy – to be quite frank, usually find them to be a turn off.  So for future sex scenes between the two, does Maya require a body double? Sure I am not the same skin tone or hair colour (or size and shape for that matter) as Maya, but I am not adverse to dyes and I would be willing to consider the role.
