From the Producer’s Mouth on #AlwaysABridesmaid

I know a few of you have been asking about Always A Bridesmaid and what its all about, as I’ve been tweeting about it.  And aside from the fact that it’s a project that my buddies, Ian Ferguson and Mark Leiren Young are working on, it is also a highly enjoyable, absolutely hysterical romantic comedy being filmed in front of a live studio audience in Van City.

Kris Krug was on the set of Always A Bridesmaid yesterday and got this great little interview with one of the producers, Colette Aubin, that tells you more:

On the Auctioning Block

In case you haven’t heard,  I’m slated to be auctioned off on Monday night by an ex-madam at Crime Pays (or at least a date with me is to be auctioned off).

Haven’t heard of Crime Pays?  Well it is THE event to be at in Van City on Monday evening, March 16th.  Here are the details:

Who: The Shebeen Club and the Federation of BC Writers

What: a wicked good fundraiser for the Fed

When: Monday, March 16th, 6-9pm

Where: The Vancouver Police Museum, 240 East Cordova Street, Vancouver

Why: it would be criminal to miss this party!

Wanted: YOU!

Come help the Fed celebrate 32 years of getting away with murder. Whether infiltrating schools, divvying up swag, or distributing subversive publications, the Federation of BC Writers has been operating unchecked in our province for decades.

Do you enjoy the vicarious thrill of rubbing shoulder pads with the Lost Literati of the Wild West surrounded by all manner of murder and mayhem in the cozy confines of the police museum? Do you have what it takes to make your bones as a Fed member? There’s only one way to find out! Come out to the party and make us an offer we can’t refuse.

Admission: $20 donation includes a drink and appetizers. Click here to register. If you won’t be attending, but would like to support the Fed with a donation, click here to donate via the raincoaster media Paypal.

It’s shaping up to be quite the night with a dress code that includes trench coats and fedoras, deerstalkers and capes, jail house stripes, uniforms, Bond Villain suits or femme fatal slink wear. Am rather sad that I’m out of town and missing the night, but expecting you cats to have a grand old time without me.  I am just begging you all to please, please bid on me.  Desperately hoping to go for more than $10.

Oh and a huge thank you to Lorraine Murphy for organizing this fabulous night!

Kisses,

Emme xoxo

PS A few other sexy beasts that I also know are up for auction (so get your cheque book out and warm up your waving arm):

Kim Cattrall is Sexy In Van City

Interview with Kim Cattrall at Banff World TV Festival 2008 by Megan Cole.

Some of our loyal readers will know that I had the pleasure of hearing one of the gals, who brought ‘Sex in the City‘ to life, speak in Banff last June. I know, lucky me, especially since it was the sexiest ‘Sex in the City’ gal and the one that has Canadian roots.  Yes, thats right, none other than Kim Cattrall, ‘Sex in the City’s’ Samantha. What I loved about Samantha’s character was that she was a woman that was okay with being single and walking a less conventional path.  She also exemplified sexiness, showing us that this was a quality not reserved for the young.  Well I have to say, hearing the real Kim Cattrall speak in person was no disappointment.  This woman was not only damn sexy, but smart, eloquent and witty to boot.  Really enjoyed listening to her speak.

So why am I mentioning this now?  Well, because Kim Cattrall is in town this week and you too have the opportunity to hear her speak, for FREE, I might add.  Here are the details:

Spring Adventures

So my dear readers, I know I have been very negligent in writing as of late. I apologize, but I do have a good excuse. With all this talk of Spring Fever and my suggestion that you, dear readers, write in with your sexy affairs in search for spring time fever, I decided I was being a little hypocritical with all talk and suggestion, but no action. Cowardly I know. But I have spent the past two-weeks rectifying that situation. And oh, ohh, ohhhhh the stories I could tell!!! It is really too bad for you that I am such a private person!

Spring fever aside, another nice little spring adventure just fell in my lap. I AM GOING TO BANFF!!!!! That’s right for The Banff World Television Festival!! Gotta phone call last night from an ex-lover and he invited me to town for the week thinking I’d get a kick out of being in town for the television fest, which of course I will, and an old flame is never a bad way to turn up the spring heat!

Banff

Have yet to figure out the whole plan, but word on the street has it that our friends – Kris Krug, Megan Cole and Erica Hargreave of Raincity Studios and Bridging Media will be in Banff covering both nextMEDIA and the Banff TV Fest of all things! So am definitely keeping my eye on those cats, as you know that they’re bound to be at all of the best parties!

Also thinking that I’ll sign up for Sunday’s Golf Tournament, as rumor has it that a lot of the big players tee off their festival this way and I have heard that it swings off the week on a nice, relaxing stroke. That aside, am definitely signing up for the Tuesday at the festival as none other then Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City will be there!!!!! And I have to meet a gal that so clearly reminds me of Miss Kittyn on the big screen! My ex-lover also tells me that the barbecue on Tuesday night is somewhat of a Banff legend that is making it’s first debut after several years on hiatus.

A Very Sexy Gal

The other days will be all about the meetings that I can schedule. Gotta get on that (pretty much right NOW!). The focus – definitely a literary agent – it is time to figure out what I can really do with that book I am writing – and with the release of Sexy in the City on the big screen, there definitely isn’t a better time than right now. Am also feeling particularly voyeuristic these days, so who knows, maybe it is time for that acting agent too!

More from the Rockies my dear fans!

Kisses,

Emme

Sexy & Savvy Tech Women Bridging Media

My dear readers,

Rumor has it that Van City’s sexy and savvy tech women are at it again – this time Bridging Media! In essence, they are aiming to break down any barriers of communication between the broadcast world and the technology community, get them to speak the same language by exploring each others processes, and finally to play nicely in the sand box, building the future of media together. These women certainly have balls, and I for one, don’t think they can be accused of not knowing how to use them!

According to my sources, this ballsy scheme was set into action from a series of conversations between Megan Cole, Boris Mann and Kris Krug of Raincity Studios, Erica Hargreave of Ahimsa Media, and Brian Schecter of Puddleduck Productions in the fall. As these cats were talking, it became apparent that there was an obvious disconnect in the understanding of broadcast process verses that of the digital world and to truly embrace the future the two communities needed to be working together.

Bridging Media

Megan Cole and Erica Hargreave have run with this initiating Van City’s first ever Bridging Media event on March 29th of this year. Boris Mann, Kris Krug, and Brian Schecter have been joined by Mark Greenspan on the gals advisory team. And as beautiful, sexy and smart women often do several other of Vancouver’s sexiest and savviest tech women have been drawn into the organizing mix, including Cinci Csere, Monique Trottier, Carol Sill and Monica Hamburg. Rumor even has it that the sultry Miss 604 will be live blogging the day.

From this gals perspective, the day is shaping up quite nicely with a panel of speakers that are none too sore on the eyes, including Ravi Singh of The Knowledge Network, Gary Marcuse of the CBC, Canadian Screenwriter Mark Leiren-Young and many of our lovely tech boys and sexy tech gals, who promise to be sharing secrets on industry, success, funds, and broadcast future! And you do know how I like secrets! It would also seem as though I am not the only one that feels that these women are up to something special. It appears that they have attracted in nextMEDIA, The Centre for Digital Media, The Knowledge Network, BC Film, OneDegree, Finale Editworks, and Now Public as sponsors. These companies know a good thing when they see it.

Oh and one final rumor from the event (probably shouldn’t divulge this one, as I’d personally like to win it) – I’ve heard they’re giving away a free pass to nextMEDIA to one lucky participant!

So shall we make it a date for March 29!?!
