Thursday’s Yorkton Party Hotline

A shout out to all my lovely peeps from the rocking town of Yorkton, Sakatchewan where Tris Hussey, Erica Hargreave and I are living it up at the Yorkton Film Festival!!!!

So tonight’s party hotline:

• 5 pm  Kickoff BBQ in beautiful downton Yorkton (sponsored by Yorkton Business Improvement District) .  So hurry up and put on your jeans, t’s and cowboy boots, it starts shortly and yes I will likely be fashionably late and no, I am not sure where in downtown Yorkton, but just follow the sound of the hoot’in and holler’in. (PS You need a BBQ pass for this one)
• 7 pm Screening of 45 RPM at the Painted Hand Casino (no idea what it’s about, but I understand it is a feature length film and is free for all)
• Post Screening Reception (hoping and guessing there will be drinks)
• Stay tuned for post, post screening festivities in the comments (and feel free to post the fyi on events for this evening that you know about there)

Morning Saskatchewan,

Bright-eyed and bushy tailed this AM (despite ugly rumors from Mr Hussey suggesting I was over imbibing – really people, who are you going to believe) and excited to be getting on the Yorkton Party Train (bus) in a few short hours.

At any rate, wanted to drop a quick note, mentioning that I am going to endeavor to publish the evenings parties here each day (hopefully before the evening – I should be up by then). I am guessing that like at the Banff Television Festival, there are a slew of parties that happen that are not in the ‘official festival schedule’, so I need your help, especially since I am a ‘Yorkton Vigin’.  Know of a Yorkton Film Festival Party?  Drop me a note on it with details here or on twitter and I will post it in my daily Yorkton Party Hotline Manifesto.

Crime Pays: Gallavanting in my PJs for Charity

Sweet!!!!  Just discovered what the date is that’s being auctioned off with me.  I am actually being encouraged to go out for the evening in my PJs!!!!!  So perfect!  I used to always go to the grocery store in my PJs during uni, much to the embarrassment of various family members.  And now, I’m actually being asked to come out in my PJs. LOVE IT!!!!

So what exactly is said date involving PJs?

It’s the JetSet Crew’s Pajama Party at the Opus Hotel this coming Saturday, March 21st.

Winter is over and now it’s time to shake it up! What everyone needs to recover from the winter blahs is a Pajama Party in a luxurious boutique hotel. JetSet Crew is pleased to partner with Opus Hotel and Heineken to create the ultimate Pajama Party…

This will be an exceptional fantasy filled night with very little sleep and highlighting the newest in sleepwear – earning new respect for the “just-got-out-of-bed look”. The beautiful JetSet Crew will arrive in various states of undress, from tiny teddies to fuzzy flannel and silk kimonos. This flow-through party will make exclusive use of Elixir, Opus Bar, and upstairs salons fitted with beds and lounging furniture, and featuring the impressive musical talent of DJ Tyson V and Erick Decks from Germany. The bidding has started online with a $30 bid from Tris (Thanks Tris for ensuring I go for more than $10!  Your the best friend a gal could have!  Sheila is one very lucky bride-to-be!).  Go bid! I promise to wear something slinkier than my flannels. (Oh and incidentally, does anyone have a robe I could borrow for the night?)
