New month and rather than drag my feet and focus on a ‘no’, it’s time to return to my original journey and a number of dreams that I’ve been sliding to the back burner, whilst dealing with more immediate demands, most of which are for others dreams. I love helping others out, but too often I seem to do so at the expense of my own dreams. How do I stop? I don’t really know. I guess I could learn to say ‘no’, but that might take time, as thats a word that doesn’t come easily to me. In the meantime, a few tunes to kick me into the right gear:
Musical Pick Me Up (Canadian Style)
Had one of those ends of my day, where really the only cure is music, and better yet, music that makes me smile and reminds that as a Canadian artist you can be successful. So I returned to a longstanding tradition of my teen years – mixed tape making – only wish this looked like an actual cassette tape (it’s a security thing, kind of like my yellow blankie that’s still in my room at home – if anyone knows how to do such things on the web, please share, I couldn’t find what I wanted):
PS If one of your tunes is not on here, it’s because I was limited to what I could find on Grooveshark, which brings me to my apologies to the Mac crowd – their widgets are flash based – I’ll put in a request for a change to html5.
More than Friends?
It’s almost like Serena Ryder wrote this as a sound track of my summer and the 5 or so years leading up to it:
If anyone happens to have a road map to the men in my world, I’d greatly appreciate your sharing it with me.
Happy Birthday to ME!!!
Just in time for my birthday the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival sent me two tickets for this years festival on August 14th! Thanks Denis! Happy Birthday to me!!! Had a riot of a time there last year with Rob and Jon!
Another great line up of performances this year, including Serena Ryder:
… will happily be that little bit of red in your world….
