Geographically Torn

December 22, 2010 By Emme Rogers 2 Comments

Got an early Christmas gift today.  Accidentally ended up finding myself standing in my dream home, somewhere totally unexpected, sitting on a quiet street at the base of the Hamilton ‘Mountain’ (seriously they call it that, try not to laugh too hard, the topography is a little different than that on the Wet Coast).  Surrounded by a funky iron gate, this small brick home, whimsically accented with stain glass and mosaic tiles couldn’t have been more me than if someone had designed it for me.  And as with everything that I love and feel inspired by, it was full of stories.  In this case, the story of beginnings for a Canadian musical success story.  You see, the artistic whimsy of the place was a little bit of magic leading up to one Daniel Lanois‘ earlier music studios tucked away in the attic.  No wonder this home seemed to inspire all my artistic sensibilities and make me like I belonged to this place.

So anybody have work they can offer me in the 905 or 416?  Thinking to properly pay tribute to the space, I may be looking for a musically inclined lover too to shack up with.  Oh and the down payment wouldn’t hurt either.

Oh, how I relate, being geographically torn (what a perfect description) myself. I find my Ontario roots increasingly tugging at me. I have spent a fair amount of time in the vicinity of Hamilton Mountain and the Niagara Escarpment.

Yeah, never really expect that to happen to me, but it seems to be. Damn, nostalgia, affordable mes and folks I love.

Sample the “Drink Me” Potion at Your Own Risk

Don't try to find a beginning or an end to this site, because there's not one. That will only cause you frustration and I don't have the money for your therapy bills. Mine are already expensive enough.
