Love that this day in a week’s time I will be kicking back to some bluegrass blues at the 2012 Burnaby Blues & Roots Festival with Canada’s only 7 piece crabgrass band of their kind, The Washboard Union ~ featuring Banjo, Mandolin, Dojo,Harp,Guitar, Fiddle, Mandolin , Drums, 4 singers and of course “The Washboard”! Looking forward to this, especially as I’ll have Mr. Rob Jones at my side whispering all sorts of uber geeky music trivia in my ear! Good times!
Aside from the fact that I personally can’t help, but find a band of blues playing men, who share images of their youth in their music videos endearing (yes, this tugs at my heartstrings), rumour has it this Outlaw Bluegrass Band has one of the most captivating live shows on the road today. Can hardly wait!
With only a week to go until this year’s festival on August 11th, 2012, I suspect it’s going to be all blues all the time around these parts this week.
