I am happy for the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival that they have been growing, adding on an extra stage and more acts. But your success, now causes me conundrums! Specifically choosing between the Garden Stage or the Westwood Stage. This presents a challenge in my day, as I want to take all the blues in, gosh darn it!!! (she says, fists clenched and stomping her feet – yes, you should fear me)
So in lieu of the ability to clone myself and simultaneously take in both experiences, I need your help in deciding how to plan my day. My first conundrum at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby from 1:45 – 2:30 pm is Miss Quincy (on the Garden Stage) or Rich Hope & His Evil Doers (on the Westwood Stage)?!?!?
Your thoughts? Here they both are:
Miss Quincy
Miss Quincy is one of our own, a good old (or young, in her case) Canadian gal with moxy, who ‘began her music career in the wild mountains of Northern BC with a knife strapped to her leg and guitar slung over her back.’ How can one not love the sound of that!
I mean … just get a load of her … I can’t even decide between her videos, so I am sharing a few!
Love the storytelling here!
Seriously! How can you not fall in love with this gal! Just watch this and try not to smile …
Rich Hope and His Evil Doers
Rich Hope is not new to the Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival or to Vancouver, first setting foot on the Garden Stage in 2009, as a winner of a competition on Shore FM. And now he is back again! Hitting the Westwood Stage this time!
A man was once heard to say the evil comes and evil goes, but he was wrong. Evil never goes—it lingers, often for years, sometimes decades, on the rarest and best occasions growing in power. Such is the case with Rich Hope and His Evil Doers, the two-man quartet that ate Vancouver in the most evil way possible, starting way back in 2005.
“I see trouble …”
So which stage would you pick???
