It may not be pleasant to watch, but it is important to bear witness to the human rights violations that were exposed in the pulled 60 Minute segment on CECOT. Thanks to Global TV running the segment, after 60 Minutes was pressured to pull it, and the Internet Archive creating a copy of it, we are able to bear witness.
Let’s not kid ourselves, what is happening in the US under the Trump regime with ICE grabbing people off the streets and forcibly detaining them, stripping them of their freedoms and human rights, amounts to violations on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and that is before all the violation to human rights that these men were exposed to in CECOT.
What we are witnessing, and many in the US are experiencing first hand, echo what people in Europe experienced at the hands of Hitler’s Nazis leading to World War II. This needs to be stopped.
