Let’s face it … I am a bit of a tease! So rather than denying, I have decided to embrace that side of my personality this week, by sharing some teases throughout the week of what is to come this coming Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at the CBCmusic.ca Festival at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby.
And as I like to fancy myself a bit of a champion for the lesser known artists, and delight in discovering the unknown to me, I thought I would start with two artists new to me …
… starting with CBC Searchlight Winner …
Lauren Mann and the Fairly Odd Folk
Love that Lauren and her band fancy the road as their home and consider themselves wanderers, a sentiment that sings out profoundly on their website. Looking forward to roamancing a #TravelHappyDance as they take to the stage to kick off the CBCmusic.ca Festival this coming Saturday at 1:45 pm.
… and waking up the Lake Stage with sweet summer sounds of music at 2:15 pm …
Wake Owl
Wake Owl singer / songwriter Colyn Cameron is yet again another traveller, originating from southern California, spending time studying and working on farms in Europe, and currently calling both Vancouver and Portland home. From what I have listened to so far of Colyn’s music, I find it to be raw, wild, and almost haunting. Quite curious to discover how his music will play out in live performance.
